Privacy policy

ID Photo JP processes your photos and face data on your device and never sends them to us. This page explains the permissions it uses and where your data is kept.

ID Photo JP ("the app") is an ID photo app made by Z-SOFT CO., LTD ("we"). It works fully offline: shooting, face detection, background removal, correction and saving all happen on your device. We run no server, and we never receive your photos, your face data or any personal information.

The data, item by item

1. What the app handles, and where it is kept

Nothing leaves your device except what you save or share yourself, and a Pro purchase.

  • Camera feed

    Stays on the device

    Processed live on your device for the camera guide; never stored.

  • Photos you take or pick

    Stays on the device

    Kept as history in the app's storage on your device. Not saved to your Photos app.

  • Face analysis results and cut-out mask

    Stays on the device

    Kept on your device as part of the history so a photo can be remade; deleted with it.

  • Finished ID photos and print sheets

    Stays on the deviceOnly when you share them, to where you share them

    Saved to the "ID Photo" album in your Photos app when you choose Save, with metadata (EXIF, location) removed.

  • Settings, presets and App Lock

    In the app's settings on your device. Biometric data never reaches the app.

  • Pro purchase

    Apple or Google handles the purchase; the app only records on your device whether you have Pro.

2. What we collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, and contains no advertising or analytics SDK.

3. Device features the app uses

  • Camera: to take ID photos and to run the camera guide (checking face position, size, lighting and so on). The camera feed is processed on your device only, and is neither stored nor sent.
  • Photos: to save finished ID photos and print sheets to your Photos app (the "ID Photo" album). When you start from an existing photo, only the photo you pick in the system picker is read.
  • Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint: to unlock the app when App Lock is on. The operating system handles authentication; the app never receives biometric data.

Your device asks for permission the first time each feature is used. If you say no, everything else still works.

4. Face detection and image processing

Face detection, checking open eyes and head angle, and cutting you out from the background use technology built into your device (Apple's Vision framework on iPhone and iPad; Google ML Kit's on-device models, bundled in the app, on Android). All processing happens on your device; images and results are never sent over the internet, and no model is downloaded at run time.

The results — such as where your face is — and the cut-out mask are stored on your device as part of the history, so a photo can be remade, and are deleted with it. The app never creates or stores face-recognition data that could identify you.

5. Network use

The app only goes online to buy ID Photo JP Pro, restore a purchase or check your purchase status. Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) handles this; we never receive your payment details.

If you have allowed your device to share analytics, technical details of an app crash may reach us through Apple or Google. These reports never contain your photos or face data.

6. Storage and deletion

History (the original photo, the cut-out mask, your adjustments and a thumbnail) is stored only in the app's storage on your device — not in your Photos app. The free version keeps the latest 3 items; ID Photo JP Pro keeps as many as you like.

  • Delete history one item at a time, or all of it with "Delete all history".
  • With "Don't keep history" on, nothing stays in the app once a photo is done.
  • Auto-delete (Pro) removes history after 1, 7 or 30 days. It never deletes anything in your Photos app.
  • Deleting the app deletes all history and settings. We keep no backup, so deleted data cannot be recovered.

Photos you save to your Photos app or share are then managed by that app or service. Metadata such as location (EXIF) is removed from every photo the app saves or shares.

7. Sharing with third parties

We don't receive your information, so we can't share it.

8. Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, whatever their age. A parent or guardian should operate the app when making a child's ID photo.

9. Changes to this policy

Any change will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
